morning walk and bike ride at Stanley Park

On our second day in Vancouver, depending on the weather conditions, plan A was to rent bicycles and visit Stanley Park. This park is in the must-see list in all the travel books and websites I've read. According to the locals, we were fortunate because our timing was great. We happened to be there on a very warm and glorious sunny day. It was perfect for our planned activity. We bought tickets for the hop on-hop off trolley around the city. Unfortunately, the wait was too long by the hotel so we decided to walk to Stanley Park. I'm glad we did our morning walk as it was just lovely with the scenery along the way.

Right beside our hotel was a very tall and modern sculpture called the "The Drop" as shown above. It's a representation of an actual raindrop which somehow blends with the mountains, sky and water in the background because of it's striking blue color. Baskets of colorful flowers (shown below) adorn the walkway around the hotel.

divided bike and walking paths for safety but I guess the stroller must be on the other side :-)
a neat boat dock and a cluster of buildings with a contemporary look

interesting sculptures in small parks along the way
