Thanks to the generosity of my aunt and uncle who surprised us with a totally unexpected but very much appreciated gift, we got to go with them on an Eastern Caribbean Christmas cruise on board a huge ship, the Mariner of the Seas! The cruise took us to the Bahamas, St. Thomas & to St. Maarten. The ship was an attraction by itself, towering like a floating skyscraper, it has a well designed mini golf park, a rock climbing wall, a movie theater, an ice skating rink, a good size gym with a pilates section and spa among its many interesting features. The food was great in the main dining but we had to try one of the specialty restaurants on board, Portofino, which served the best Italian cuisine. It was a very memorable and enjoyable cruise spent with my aunt and uncle at a very special time of the year.
